Pastor James Wood
Born in Glasgow, Kentucky, James’s life is a tapestry woven with threads of faith, family, and service. Raised by his mother and grandparents, he learned the value of love and relationships. Joining the Navy at 18 instilled discipline and duty.
The Navy took him to California. In California, he found his soulmate, Lisa Wood, and they have been married for 43 years. California is also where James gave his life to God and embraced faith, a turning point that guided his path.
Relocating to Indiana in 1995, James prioritized family, nurturing his three children, James Jr., Whitney & Jerone. James continued to utilize his trade as a Journeyman Carpenter and his commitment to the military until he retired from both in 2013 & 2014.
As far as his ministry, James served under Bishop Charles Sims at Calvary Community Church for over 20 years before heeding a divine call. James served many hats at church but was most known as praise & worship leader, choir member, Elder, and local handyman.
James finally answered that call, and established his ministry in North Vernon, Indiana, becoming a beacon of faith and leadership. James has never met a stranger and continues to allow his love for people and outreach to infiltrate everywhere he goes. His life embodies dedication, love, and an enduring commitment to God and community.
